Nestled in woodlands adjacent to our lake lies our Outdoor Adventure program which consists of Ropes, Climbing, Archery, Nature, Camping and Gardening.
Whether campers are learning how to build a fire, shoot a bow and arrow or grow lettuce for our salad bar, there is no better place for children to build self-confidence and develop an appreciation for nature.
Ropes, Climbing, Archery
Our facility includes a high ropes course designed for individual challenge, a low ropes course for team building and a 38-foot rock climbing wall complete with an exhilarating zip line. Every few years we add new, exciting elements and obstacles to challenge campers of all skill levels. Recently an outdoor ninja course was constructed and an exciting indoor climbing/bouldering facility was added to the adventure program. Like our ropes course and rock wall, the archery range is shaded by trees so our campers stay cool while aiming for the target.
Nature, Gardening, Camping
There is always a fun adventure in store for our campers when they come to nature, like hiking on our private trail and picking fresh blueberries, making all-natural beauty products and fire-building/rope-burning competitions to name just a few. Each bunk has the opportunity to go on an overnight where they will make a fire, cook dinner, roast marshmallows, eat s’mores and sleep in our tree-house overlooking the lake.
Most campers look forward to the day when the goats come for a visit. Older campers have the option to go to the goat farm to milk the goats and make goat cheese and homemade fudge. They can also choose to go on outdoor adventure trips such as mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and tubing down the Delaware river.
Camp Wayne for Girls’ expansive garden gives campers the opportunity to help cultivate and produce organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. It wouldn’t be fun to grow your own food if you couldn’t eat it so luckily our girls get to grill veggies, make snacks and whip up smoothies at our Garden Café (CWG’s version of Farm to Table!)
